Doritos Mountain Dew: DEWitos ‘Liquid Cheese’ Receives Mixed Reviews On Reddit
Doritos Mountain Dew probably sounds like an interesting combination, to say the least. The so-called Dewitos have been sighted in various universities, and social media has lit up with reviews of the new flavor.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, a PepsiCo spokesperson confirmed the new Doritos Mountain Dew flavor, but unfortunately, they are not about to hit store shelves any time soon.
“We are always testing out new flavors of Mountain Dew, and giving our fans a voice in helping decide on the next new product has always been important to us. We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities.”
A Reddit user named joes_nipples has given us the earliest review of the Doritos Mountain Dew flavor. The concoction was served at room temperature and tasted “like a weird mix of Mountain Dew flavor and Doritos. Like if you shoved a handful of Doritos in your mouth and chugged some Dew at the same time.” But the Reddit user admits the Doritos Mountain Dew flavor “wasn’t that disgusting,” instead saying it “tasted like orange with a Doritos after taste. It tasted like straight Doritos afterwards though. Weirdest thing I’ve ever drunken.”
Other reviewers of the Doritos Mountain Dew flavor claimed it tasted like “liquid cheese,” although that is hard to tell if that would be a good thing or not. Reddit user pcmasterrace posted the photos taken at his school, where Pepsi employees were handing out little cups of Doritos Mountain Dew soda. His review was not quite as heartening, since he claims the flavor “honestly wasn’t too disgusting. It just had a really strong Doritos aftertaste, which was odd.”
Such reviews are probably why the Doritos Mountain Dew soda has been limited to “taste test promotions” at universities. It’s possible they will be tweaking the formula for Doritos Mountain Dew as time goes on, but as of now it sounds like not too many people would like to be chugging this liquid cheese.
