Jana Duggar And Jinger Duggar: Why Aren’t ’19 Kids And Counting’ Stars Married Or Courting?
Jana Duggar fans have often wondered why the 19 Kids and Counting star hasn’t walked down the aisle yet. She’s only 24 years old, but she is younger than married sisters Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, there has been speculation that Jana Duggar isn’t a wife yet because her father doesn’t want her to be one. The eldest Duggar daughter acts as a live-in babysitter for her parents by caring for her younger siblings, and she’s just as much a mother to the “littles” as Michelle Duggar. In other words, she would be greatly missed if she left to start a family of her own.
Radar Online and some upset 19 Kids and Counting viewers have even dubbed Jana “Cinderella Duggar” — her sisters have found their happy endings, but she continues to slave away as a nanny/maid/teacher (she also home schools the kids). However, if Jana has a problem with the way she’s being treated in the Duggar household, she’s in no rush to use marriage as a means of escape.
According to People magazine, Jim Bob Duggar recently revealed that he’s been working hard to play matchmaker for Jana. However, his daughter isn’t just going to settle for the first guy who expresses an interest in courting her.
“Jana is one of the prettiest girls in the world and one of the sweetest girls. There have been a lot of guys who have been interested in her, I have gone to hear about each one, and so far she hasn’t felt that is the way the Lord is leading.”
Maybe Jana thinks that Jim Bob just doesn’t have great taste in men — or perhaps she wants to break the Duggar mold by finding her own man instead of letting her dad hand-pick her future husband. Now that would make for some must-see 19 Kids and Counting TV. There’s also a possibility that the trained midwife is in no rush to get married and pregnant after taking care of so many babies for so many years.
Jana Duggar addressed the courtship question in her own words.
“We’ve always gotten different ones asking, ‘When is it going to be your turn? When is it your time?’ I just think for me I am just waiting and we’ll see. When God brings that one along it will be his timing.”
According to Jim Bob, 20-year-old Jinger Duggar also isn’t a big fan of the men he has picked as her potential mates.
“Jinger is just a dynamic girl that a lot of guys have been interested in. But so far, she has not been interested in the guys.”
Jana and Jinger don’t seem all that interested in settling down, but 24-year-old John David is ready to find the one. At Jessa Duggar’s wedding, Jana’s twin joked that he’s “taking applications for a future spouse.”
