Why Doesn’t Beyoncé Use Twitter? Here’s Why

Beyoncé is known for using different media platforms to connect with fans, for personal and promotional use. When she decided to release her surprise album Beyoncé, she released a lot of promotional images after the fact on Instagram.

When she and Jay Z were going through marriage troubles, the singer released photos of the family looking as happy as can be to refute rumors. So why doesn’t Beyonce use Twitter to reach her fans? After all, Beyonce currently has a whopping 13.7 million followers on Twitter.

Well, according to E!, Beyonce’s digital manager Lauren Wirtzer Seawood discussed at Web Summit just why Tumblr, Instagram, and Facebook work better over Twitter.
She began, “The reality is that fans have access. They have expectations that content will be fed to them. Today, you know when you wake up what the artist ate for the breakfast, what their dog looks like. The ability to fill those channels in a really smart and creative way becomes really important.”

So far the “Crazy in Love” singer only has a handful of tweets to her name and her last one was made on August 2013, which is way before she decided to drop her album Beyoncé.

Team Beyonce just decided that Twitter wasn’t a platform for them. The reason? It didn’t work.

“The key is for many artists that some platforms don’t work. We find that using those two platforms gets the content to the fans immediately.”

So given the singer’s activity on Instagram and Facebook, what is she up to? Today she posted a silhouette photo of husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, so it looks like she’s in Paris. Earlier she posted photos posing at the Pablo Picasso museum in Paris.

The day before, she posted a photo of Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland as she welcomed her into motherhood with a beautiful caption.

“There’s no better feeling than holding my beautiful nephew. I thank god for the honor of witnessing my sisters journey into motherhood. I’ve always dreamt of our little ones growing up together. I’m so thankful for our bond. Baby Ty, I love you so much. Congrats to my Spoons.”

Aside from her personal photos, Beyoncé is planning to release a special edition version of her hit album with new collaborations by Justin Timberlake and Nicki Minaj, which drops on November 24.
