‘Batman V Superman’ Filming: The Loop In Chicago Takes Center Stage [Photos]

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Batman v Superman filming in the famous Loop in Chicago. The Zack Snyder production is in its first week in Illinois, and all eyes this weekend are on the action taking place in the Windy City.

Numerous street closings have been announced already, so residents can prepare for the disruptions that will take place over the next few days. Police cars were seen blocking roads around the areas where filming for Batman v Superman will happen.

So what’s going on in the production? Well, nobody really knows, but we can deduct something from what has been seen thus far. A lot of Homeland Security vehicles were spotted by fans and reporters. Check it out.

A big crane was also seen getting ready for an aerial scene on Thursday. This could indicate that Superman (Henry Cavill) will be involved in some fashion. Chicago was the base used for Metropolis in the Batman v Superman prequel, Man of Steel, and the home of the Daily Planet.

If you live or work in downtown Chicago, chances are you’ve seen the Batman v Superman filming. It’s hard to miss, as there are trucks and props all over the place. For the latest news regarding streets closures and traffic disruptions, go here.

As far as star appearances, we have seen fan photos of Henry Cavill visiting a breakfast place last weekend and going to the gym to train this week. As always, he was gracious enough to pose with fans, as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

On Thursday, Amy Adams, who returns to Batman v Superman as intrepid reporter Lois Lane, was seen signing autographs for fans somewhere in Chicago. Instagram user @tribluis posted this video of the red-head with admirers.

The Batman v Superman filming is scheduled to be in Illinois for a few more weeks. Stay tuned for all the latest news and photos from the Zack Snyder blockbuster.
