Simon Cowell’s Fifth Harmony Soars With Success, From Austin Mahone’s Tour To Brazil [Video]

Fifth Harmony, formed during auditions for The X Factor, initially seemed like an impossible dream when it came to winning. But with Simon Cowell leading the way, the girl band sang their way to the finals. Now Cowell continues to guide the girls as Fifth Harmony is earning praise and recognition around the world, including singing in Brazil (see below).

What’s next on Fifth Harmony’s song sheets? Look for them at Nickelodeon’s HALO Awards, revealed the Hollywood Reporter.

The group will join an impressive musical lineup that includes Jessie J, Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor, Echosmith, and The Vamps. Nick Cannon will host the ceremony.

But the girls haven’t neglected the need for a little romance amid the work. Just ask 17-year-old Camila Cabello, who finally confirmed that she’s the official girlfriend of pop star Austin Mahone. Her confession followed a year of so many rumors that fans called the duo “Ausmila,” revealed E! News.

How did Camila and Austin meet? Bring in Simon Cowell again, who arranged for Fifth Harmony to perform on Austin’s solo tour as an opening act.

The ubiquitous Andy Cohen persuaded Camilla to reveal her romance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, where she was joined by her four harmonious group members Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane Hansen.

After telling Andy that she’s Mahone’s girlfriend in response to his question, Camila praised the young pop singer and corrected Cohen’s nickname for Austin.

“Uh, a Mahomie,” clarified Camila politely. “Oh yeah, he’s a really good guy.”

But what’s next for Simon Cowell, Fifth Harmony’s proud creator? As the Inquisitr reported, the group isn’t Cowell’s only “baby.” He’s a new father as well.

However, he’s careful to balance family life with career, paying particular attention to his own Syco Records, which jump-started Fifth Harmony’s musical future. The group subsequently won “Artist to Watch” at the MTV VMAs, and their single, “BO$S,” has earned a solid place in the Billboard Hot 100.

How much does Cowell make from all this success? He stayed at the top of Forbes’ annual list of the best-paid entertainment personalities for the second year in a row by reaping in $95 million. The list calculates estimated earnings between June 2013 and June 2014.

In addition to Fifth Harmony, Simon rakes in cash from his X Factor franchise, which holds competitions around the world, from Vietnam to Albania. His record label, Syco, represents all those winners.

Add in a little band called One Direction that has exploded in popularity, and Simon Cowell’s golden touch has not faded.
