Kacey Musgraves Rips Off Panties And Throws Them At CMAs

Kacey Musgraves had to set her panties free during the 2014 Country Music Awards on Wednesday night, and she is not afraid to admit it!

The 26-year old country music star admitted she had to get rid of her underwear at the last minute before heading on stage to perform the hit song, “You’re Looking at Country” alongside Loretta Lynn.

Fortunately, Kacey Musgraves seemed to have a sense of humor about the potentially embarrassing situation. During a press room interview after the broadcast, Musgraves quickly identified the elephant in the room by getting the news out into the open.

“And just so ya’ll know, right before I sang, my panties came off.”

Why did Kacey Musgraves have to get rid of her underwear? Apparently, it had nothing to do with the performance itself, but the outfit that Kacey was wearing on stage.

Kacey Musgraves wore a sequined mini-dress with a daring design that had huge sheer side panels, according to US Weekly.

It was an outfit that definitely would not have looked good at such a highly-publicized and televised event without wearing the right type of discreet underwear — which Musgraves apparently did not realize until the last minute.

When the “Keep It To Yourself” singer saw that she was experiencing a potential wardrobe malfunction, she realized that there was no time to waste and reacted to her fashion emergency as quickly as possible.

“They were the stick-on kind, I mean, just look at this dress. There’s not much to work with. They were stuck on, and then they weren’t stuck on and the curtain was about to come up so literally I had to rip ’em off and throw them to the side.”

Musgraves went on to admit that she actually left the stage without her underwear on and did not go back to get them.

“In case you see them somewhere around here, they’re mine.”

Kacey Musgraves was nominated at the 2014 Country Music Awards in three different categories — Female Vocalist of the Year, Video of the Year and Song of the Year. Musgraves won the award for Song of the Year with her hit single, “Follow Your Arrow.”

Kacey has also received a nomination for Favorite Country Artist at the upcoming 2014 American Music Awards, so her fans and critics will just have to wait until November 23 to see if Kacey has to make any more last-minute decisions like she did at the CMAs on Wednesday.
