Woman Pretends To Be Daughter: Florida Woman Tells Cop She Has ‘Rare Aging Disease’

A mom pretends to be her daughter when she gets pulled over by police in Indian River County, Florida, and what she told officers is quite surprising — and a little baffling. According to People Magazine, Jennifer R. Crosby, 43, told police that she was Christina R. Topp, which is actually the name of her 22-year-old daughter. She also gave her daughter’s birthday as further “proof.”

When police looked into it, Crosby came up with a quick response, telling officers that she had a “rare aging disease” that made her look much older than she actually was. The police report detailed what went down on Saturday.

“She said she did not have her license on her because she forgot her purse. The driver told me that her name was Christina R. Topp with a date of birth of March 16, 1992. Immediately, I was suspicious because the driver appeared significantly older than that. At this point the driver could tell I was suspicious and went on to tell me that she has a condition that makes her age faster.”

The mom who pretended to be her daughter eventually had to tell police why she lied. Apparently she did not want to get arrested because she was driving on a suspended license. Crosby has had run-ins with the law in the past so she was likely trying to skirt by as to not get in trouble again.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Crosby was accused of hiding crack cocaine in her vagina over the summer. In that incident, Crosby was pulled over by police for a “minor traffic violation.” When police asked for her identification, she allegedly responded, “I don’t have a license! I’m habitual!” Officers say that she was acting very nervous, so they asked her if she had any drugs in her possession. She was allegedly very forthcoming, telling police that she had “drugs in [her] vagina.” She was then asked to retrieve the drugs and, once it was confirmed that she had been carrying crack cocaine, she was arrested and charged.

The mom pretending to be her daughter was arrested for driving on a suspended license and providing a false name, according to Gawker. It is unknown why she was originally pulled over, or if she had been driving under the influence. It is also unknown if she had drugs on her person or in the vehicle that she was driving.
