‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Better Than ‘Empire Strikes Back’, Anthony Daniels Says
Star Wars Episode VII is better than The Empire Strikes Back, according to original cast member Anthony Daniels, who plays the droid C3PO. The statement is welcome news to some fans who are still not convinced that director J.J. Abrams and Disney can do the franchise justice.
Daniels posted his thoughts on Twitter Sunday and immediately got a reaction from relieved followers.
“No movie sequel is better than The Empire Strikes Back.” You might eat those words for Xmas dinner in 2015. Joy & Indigestion to the world!

@ADaniels3PO Are you hinting that the new Star Wars film is amazing Anthony? ?

@ADaniels3PO Hearing that makes me want to hug you, but concerned that may be against protocol. I am only fluent in 1million. Lot to learn.

@ADaniels3PO If true then you just made the greatest movie in cinema history. Let’s hope that’s the case!

Abrams and his team just wrapped filming of Star Wars Episode VII last week and they celebrated with a big wrap party. Director J.J. Abrams sent a thank you note to all involved, in which he stresses that they are part of something that millions of people follow.
From the start, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy as well as Abrams have made it clear that they are focused on making fans happy and continuing the legendary saga created by George Lucas in the late 1970s. Bringing the original cast members back to Star Wars Episode VII puts fans at ease about what they will see in the next chapter of the story that began with Star Wars: A New Hope.
If the force is indeed with Star Wars Episode VII as it was for The Empire Strikes Back, which is considered, by many, the best in the collection of six films and is only second to A New Hope in box office revenues, then it would be a monumental success for Abrams and Co.
For many fans, there is nothing like the originals (let us know if you don’t agree on the space below) and the sequels were a disappointment, which was also reflected at the box office. The Star Wars sequels are thus far incomparable when it comes to this franchise.
So, can Star Wars Episode VII learn from past mistakes and make this new trilogy something a new generation of fans can truly embrace? Disney is certainly doing everything in its power to see that happens, but the end result will only be seen when the new chapter lands in theaters on December 18, 2015.
