Dog Shot In Poop Dispute: ‘Innocent’ Dog Shot Dead By Police, Petitions Started Online

A video of a dog shot in a poop dispute was passed around the internet this weekend, and now people are calling for action to be taken.

It all started when a man was approached by his neighbor because he did not pick up his dog’s waste. Instead of doing the right thing, the man started a fight with the woman and then he allegedly threatened her and her dog. According to the New York Daily News, the man’s neighbor, Kim Polk, wasn’t trying to start a fight. However, she was forced to call police after the man threatened her with a bow and arrow and a machete.

When police arrived, the man refused to come out of his house. There was a three hour standoff in the Racine, Wisc. neighborhood as people watched from their windows. The man was irate, yelling at police, and threatening them. All of the sudden, the man decided to let his dog out. In the video below, you can see the dog walking in front of the police. The dog does not look aggressive or intimidating in any way. What happened next was unimaginable.

The dog was shot and killed after what started off as a “poop dispute.” Police fired a couple of shots at the pup, killing her on the man’s front lawn. Many believe that the dog was completely innocent and not the root of the problem.

A Facebook page has been set up in honor of Angel, the 3-year-old Australian cattle dog who was shot dead by police. Many people feel as though the dog was killed unjustly and that police were taking out their frustration on the four-legged animal. Since the incident, two petitions have been set up online. One is a call to “fire and charge” the officer who shot the dog. The other is a “justice for Angel and safeguards for Racine’s dogs.”

The dog shot in the poop dispute incident was caught on video by a curious neighbor. Please be advised that the video is hard to watch and may be NSFW.

This video shows the owner’s side of the story.

Dogs have been in the news a lot lately. Known as man’s best friend, pups are great companions who often help people with various things. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a dog was recently credited with helping police by leading them to his owner who had been accused of cooking meth.
