Man Threatens To Behead President Obama, Slash First Lady’s Throat In Explicit Email
The United States Secret service has a Maryland man in custody on the suspicion that he made death threats against President Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama. Reuters reports that Christopher Perkins O’Brien, 42, was arrested on Thursday after a threatening email that was sent to the White House was traced back to Perkins’ home in Annapolis.
The email was filled with racist remarks and threats of physical violence against the Obamas. Court documents show that O’Brien charged with making a violent threat against the president, threatening bodily harm against the presidential family and using interstate communications to make the threats.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the email O’Brien is accused of writing contains several racists slurs against the president in addition to the writer calling Obama “stupid” for the way he is handling ISIS and the Ebola outbreak.
“You stupid n——, between ISIS, homegrown terrorists/beheaders here in the USA, and now your inaction on EBOLA, do you want us all to f—— die?!?! I cannot wait to take out your worthless n—— ass, hope to reach out to slash Michele’s throat… You?? I will make a point to behead you, then throw your head into the nearest body of water, as I drive off into Maryland.”
It was not difficult for the Secret Service to find Christopher O’Brien — he reportedly put his phone number in the email message that he sent to the White House. Court papers states then when two agents went to talk to O’Brien about the email, he initially denied making a threat against President Obama, but changed his story moments later. He then admitted sending the email but told the agents that he would “never hurt the president or his family.”
Reports filed by the Secret Service state that O’Brien was “too ill” to carry out any threats against President Obama and his family and that he also “expressed regret in sending the email and stated that he was embarrassed.”
O’Brien is no stranger to violence, with the Sun reporting that he was convicted of manslaughter in 2007 for the strangulation death of Katherine Randolph White, a 32-year-old Maryland City archaeologist. White apparently invited O’Brien to live with her after meeting him in a substance abuse rehabilitation center. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2007, but most of the sentence was suspended.
A public defender has been appointed to represent Christopher O’Brien. It is still unknown what sentence he will face if he is convicted for threatening President Obama and the First Lady.
