‘Bed Intruder Guy’ Antoine Dodson To Appear On ‘Celebrity Boxing,’ Against The Actual Bed Intruder

In a story that’s so weird we couldn’t have possibly made it up if we wanted to, “Bed Intruder Guy” Antoine Dodson (remember him?) is going to appear on Celebrity Boxing, and his opponent is going to be the actual bed intruder that made him famous.

If the name Antoine Dodson isn’t ringing a bell, he’s the guy who went from an anonymous dude living in Huntsville, Alabama’s public housing project Lincoln Park to an internet sensation thanks to a viral video. Here’s the setup: Antoine’s sister was sleeping in her bed when an intruder climbed into bed with her and tried to rape her. When a local news crew caught up with Antoine, he had some words of advice for the residents of Lincoln Park (Antoine’s bit begins at 1:01).

As with all things viral, someone decided that if it’s worth doing, it’s worth over-doing. Enter The Gregory Brothers, who created an Auto-tune mix of Dodson’s rant.

The song became a hit on iTunes, according to News Corp Australia, and Dodson became an even bigger “celebrity.”

Since then, Antoine has made a career out of being Antoine Dodson. He released a line of merchandise, endorsed a sex-offender tracking app, came out as gay, made his thoughts known on the Chick-fil-A controversy, claimed to have prayed the gay away, and announced that he’s going to be a dad.

Someone from Celebrity Boxing recently approached Antoine, he says, about fighting Lindsay Lohan’s dad. But then, an even juicier opportunity presented itself.

“Then some dude said he was the intruder and wanted to fight me. I guess he wanted to seek revenge on me for getting famous. For me, it’s like revenge for me, too. You know what I’m saying? Because it’s like, what gives you the right to come into somebody’s window and try to do whatever you thought you were going to do to a person, and think there are no consequences behind it?”

The Birmingham News caught up with the man claiming to be the Bed Intruder, 30-year-old Rashaad Cooper, who said the alleged rape was all just a big misunderstanding.

“Me and [Antoine] was cool. Me and his sister had a little fling. I did not hop on a trashcan and enter the window. I was at the house chilling one day, just me and Kelly. She tried to do something I wasn’t down for yet. All the sudden she got mad and bipolar and started throwing stuff, trying to fight me. So I won’t lie, I did hop out that window. (laughs) A mad woman? You don’t play with them.”

Mr. Cooper is looking forward to the opportunity to face Mr. Dodson for, as he puts it, “profiting off of [his] life.”
