George Clooney Comedy ‘Hail, Caesar!’ Hits Theaters In 2016

George Clooney may have recently skipped off into the world of wedded bliss for the second time, but that doesn’t mean he’s slacking off on the film front.

The actor’s fourth collaboration with the Coen Brothers, Hail, Caesar!, is officially slated to hit theaters in early 2016. Unless Universal Pictures decides to push the star-studded comedy deeper into the year, Entertainment Weekly explains that Clooney’s latest flick will arrive on February 5, 2016. Although that’s quite a while down the road, it gives Clooney and Coen brothers fans plenty of time to get excited about the flick.

Although seeing the actor and the acclaimed directors work their magic once again is reason enough for celebration, the rest of the cast isn’t too shabby either. According to the flick’s IMDb page, George Clooney appears alongside Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, and Josh Brolin.

Slashfilm has the scoop on the movie’s plot.

Hail, Caesar! follows a single day in the life of a studio fixer who is presented with plenty of problems to fix.”

In addition to working in front of the camera, George Clooney has a few directorial projects on the Hollywood burner at the moment. Deadline reports that Clooney will direct Hack Attack, based on author Nick Davies’ book of the same name. The website claims that the film will tackle the “steamy side” of modern journalism.

“The film focuses on the scandalous practice of how British tabloids routinely hacked into the phones of politicians, celebs, cops, hookers, royalty and terror attack victims to get scoops. The low point came when journos hacked the phone and deleted messages of missing 13-year-old schoolgirl Milly Dowler, who later was found murdered.”

If you’re a George Clooney fanatic who simply cannot wait for these projects to hit the big screen, then you’re in luck. Director Brad Bird’s highly-anticipated sci-fi opus Tomorrowland is presently slated to hit theaters in the thick of the summer movie season. The movie should arrive on May 22, 2015. Mark your calendars.
