Diem Brown’s Cancer Has Spread: Reality Star Prepares For Next ‘Challenge’
Diem Brown is battling cancer for a third time, and this time, it’s the worst time. Although her struggle hasn’t been easy, the reality star (who you may know from MTV’s The Challenge) has known what to expect and has prepared for such. Now, according to People Magazine, Diem just got some devastating news — that her cancer (this time in her colon) has spread. The pain that she has experienced and the side effects from her most recent round of chemotherapy have been downright awful, but Diem is still ready to fight.
“I was blown away. It really crushed a little bit of my spirit. I go into trauma mode. My mind goes, like, cyborg. I don’t want to get emotional, and I ask a whole bunch of questions – as many as I can,” Diem said of her response when doctors told her that her cancer had spread to her liver and lymph nodes (it is also in her stomach).
Diem Brown described the pain that she experienced after her last surgery, and a bad reaction that she had to her last chemo treatment, and despite being in a “dark, dark, dark, dark” place, Diem is finally feeling better. For the first time in several days, she said she got a break from the pain, which is really all that she wanted. Looking ahead to her next round of treatment, Diem says that she knows what to expect and she hopes to handle the recovery better because she will be more prepared.
Diem says that she is determined to beat cancer and that she will have a future. She wants to have a family, which has always been important to her, but maybe not as important as it is right now.
“It’s my personal perspective that you live as hard and as vigorously as you can. My goals are something I believe in, because I believe I’m going to make it. I’m going to have a family and get married and the whole American, 2½ kids, white-picket fence dream. It’s something that’s really important to me, because it means a long-term future.”
Diem Brown has a great support system in her life. Her family and friends have been instrumental in helping her through.
