‘Zombie Woman’ In New York Arrested For DWI Twice In Three Hours

When a zombie woman makes problems for the public, it’s usually in the movies or TV. This time, she was caught drinking and driving twice in three hours on the streets of New York.

Catherine Butler isn’t really a zombie, of course, and the makeup didn’t fool officers, but she was certainly messed up enough to potentially cause problems with her drunk driving. After attending a Rochester bar’s “zombie prom” on Saturday, she was caught driving without her headlights on. This happened at 2 a.m., according to Gates police.

Apparently, after stopping her for unsafe driving habits, the 26-year-old woman was determined to be drunk, with a blood alcohol level of.11 percent, and taken to the police station. A friend picked Butler up and somehow she ended up back in a car around 5 a.m., now wearing makeup featuring fake cuts and blood.

The “zombie woman” may not have been drinking since the first arrest; the second time her blood alcohol level was measured at.09 percent. Butler may have sobered up a little, but not enough to stop her from getting caught driving drunk twice on the same road.

The legal blood alcohol limit is.08 percent, one which Butler exceeded twice in one night.

According to police, this is the fourth time Catherine Butler has been caught driving drunk. Gates Police Chief James Vanbrederode told the press about her habits and alleged refusal (inability?) to learn.

“Two prior driving while impaired convictions and 26 years old and she’s still out driving drunk. It’s just hard to understand why people continue to do that and the consequences of continuing to do that.”

Comments at ABC News say “the legal system has totally failed,” due to the fact that the “zombie woman” has not lost her license after repeated DWI offenses, even on the same night. The charges had been reduced to impaired driving, allowing “zombie woman” Catherine Butler to keep her drivers’ license.

Further comments on the site claim that the Gates Police are probably waiting for her to actually kill someone while driving drunk before she faces serious consequences.

What do you think should be done about the repeat DWI offender caught twice in one night? Did the police do enough to enforce consequences?
