New York Woman Beheaded: Son Kills Mother, Jumps In Front Of Train In Apparent Murder-Suicide [Update]

A New York woman was beheaded by her son in an apparent murder-suicide. According to One News Page, the 60-something-year-old woman was found with her head severed, and her son was found dead after he jumped in front of a nearby train. Police are still investigating the case, but they do believe that this was domestic and not terror-related in any way.

The woman was found near her apartment on Tuesday night. According to CNN, the man in his 30s was found a short distance from his mom’s home. A murder weapon has not yet been found.

When the New York woman beheaded by her son was found, it wasn’t immediately clear what had happened. According to Fox News, the man dragged the woman’s body to the street, leaving her body and her head in two separate “piles.” Many in the area thought it was just a Halloween prank.

Witnesses say that they saw the man drag the body into the street. He kicked the head — like a soccer ball — about 20 feet before making his way to the train station. However, no one really thought that the man had just killed someone. Since Halloween is on Friday, people just sort of made sense with the whole scenario. But they were very wrong. Onlookers could not believe that what they had been looking at was a human body, and not some kind of Halloween decoration.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the incident happened in Long Island. Passengers who were on the train that the man jumped in front of were bused to other train stations so that they could switch trains and get to their destinations. Many passengers on board the train were frightened as the station turned into a crime scene and police were everywhere. Authorities encouraged train travelers to avoid the Ronkonkoma line. Port Jefferson, Montauk, and Babylon were suggested alternatives.

Just one day after the New York woman was found beheaded by her son, things seem to be back to normal.
