Lisa Vanderpump Turned Down ‘Celebrity Big Brother UK’

Lisa Vanderpump was almost cast in the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother UK. Although the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was offered a serious payday for taking part in the series, Vanderpump opted out reportedly because she couldn’t bear the thought of being away from her beloved dogs for an extended period of time.

“[Lisa Vanderpump] was flattered by the offer and she certainly would have been TV gold, but she’s just spent months in front of the cameras filming two reality shows in Los Angeles,” a source revealed to the UK’s Daily Mail on October 28. “She didn’t have it in her to go another round and wasn’t keen on going back over the Pond and being parted from her dogs.”

“As a Brit living in LA, Lisa would have brought some of that Beverly Hills glamour to the show,” the source said. “She’s also a straight talker and would have taken no nonsense from fellow housemates.”

In the past, several U.S. celebrities have appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK. “The last season of CBB UK, which finished last month, was won by Hollywood actor Gary Busey, 70, who made it through the three-week stint to be crowned champion,” the Daily Mail reported.

Other U.S. stars to have appeared on past seasons include teenage bride Courtney Stodden, former Hills stars Heidi and Spencer Pratt and former Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

Rumored to be joining the cast of Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2014 is British glamour model Katie Price.

Earlier this month, the Inquisitr reported Lisa Vanderpump had spoken out about the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and her decision to return to the show, despite having issues with several of the women following Season 4.

“You know what? There was a moment where I thought I just can never go back to that because it was so difficult. But then time’s a great healer and I thought ‘You know what? I’m going it again’ and I’m awfully glad I did because I do think (goosebumps) this is going to be our best season yet! But there are a couple of them — there’s still one that I would happily throttle,” Vanderpump said.

Lisa Vanderpump and the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will return to Bravo for their fifth season later this year. Although no premiere date has been set, as the Inquisitr previously reported, Andy Cohen recently said it will be “soon.”
