Anna Cardwell Opens Up About Molestation By Mama June’s Beau
Anna Cardwell was rumored to have been the 9-year-old little girl that Mama June’s new boyfriend molested. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star has now confirmed those rumors, and opened up about her ordeal. Cardwell started talking about the issue after the reality television family found itself out of a job, after it became known that Honey Boo Boo’s mother had started dating a convicted child molester TLC canceled the program.
It turns out that things are bit more disturbing because Mama June’s own daughter Anna was the 9-year-old in question. Cardwell being a member of the family has led many fans of the show to question whether Anna’s sister Honey Boo Boo is safe in her home these days. Cardwell is now fully grown, married, and has a child of her own. Anna recently spoke to Radar Online about her feelings regarding her mother, June Shannon dating the man who molested her.
The man in question is named Mark McDaniel, and there are numerous reports claiming that he has started a relationship with the matriarch of the reality television show family recently. Cardwell told the website she’s confused about why her mother would be dating the man who hurt her.
Anna said while there have been some conflicting reports, “I believe she is seeing him and hanging around him. I’m hurt, I think me and Mama’s relationship may well be over.”
For her part, Anna’s mom claims that she is no longer seeing McDaniel, though there are still plenty of people wondering why she would ever start seeing him, especially considering what he did to Cardwell when she was younger. Others have obviously been quite concerned for what this kind of a decision would mean for Anna’s other siblings. Anna Cardwell might be away and out of the home, but Honey Boo Boo and her sisters from another relationship, Chubbs and Pumpkin, are still living with Mama June.
June did take to Facebook shortly after the news broke of Cardwell being the person who was molested and tried to stop the rumors she was dating McDaniel.
“I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors. Remember you can’t believe everything you read!” she posted. “I would never put [my kids] in danger period over this or anything else they r my life. This is my past. I left him 10 [years] ago for it and I wouldn’t go back.”
At this point, it must be hard for Anna Cardwell to know exactly what is rumor and what is fact.
