Mama June Dating Man Who Molested Her Daughter? Anna Shannon Says ‘Yes’

Mama June Shannon, matriarch of the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo clan, has denied rumors that she is dating a man convicted of child molestation. TMZ has pictures that would seem to indicate otherwise, and though Shannon insists they’re fabrications, one of her daughters isn’t so sure.

(Neither is TLC, hence why they canceled the series this week.)

Anna “Shannon” Cardwell — aka “Chickadee” — has decided to speak out.

In a report posted by Us Weekly on Saturday, Cardwell said that she was the child her mother’s ex-boyfriend was convicted of molesting when she was eight years old.

“I believe she is seeing him and hanging around him. I’m hurt,” she said. “I think me and Mama’s relationship may well be over.”

The original Radar report goes further into graphic detail, obtaining court documents that describe the molestation.

The accused, Mark McDaniel, now 53, “did then and there unlawfully perform an immoral and indecent act which did involve an act of sodomy to Anna Shannon with intent to arouse and satisfy the sexual desires of said accused and said act involving the mouth of said Anna Shannon and the sex organ of the accused,” district attorney Tommy K. Floyd wrote in Henry County, Georgia court papers.

The abuse is said to have occurred “multiple times” between October 2002 and March 2003, pitting the ages of Anna “Shannon” Cardwell at 8 and 9 years of age, while McDaniel would have been 41 and 42 during the same period of time.

According to the Georgia Sex Offender Registry, McDaniel received a 10-year sentence for the crime, and was released from Dodge State Prison on March 1, 2014.

Mama June continues to insist that she and McDaniel are not an item. On Facebook Saturday she tried to “clear up” the rumors.

“I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors remember you can’t believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid everyday that r false! It isnt true i promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn’t go back”

Of course, many commenters weren’t buying it.

“What about the pics, June?” asked one.

“What about what Anna is saying June? I want this all to be not true but it is getting worse,” said another.

“Then why were you cancelled?”

These questions are yet to have clear answers, but we’ll keep you posted should Mama June respond.
