Weather Channel founder John Coleman claims there is no scientific proof behind man-made climate change.
Climate change/global warming proponents in politics, academia, journalism, and the entertainment community have insisted that the debate is settled, but Coleman maintains that 9,000 scientists are on board with his skepticism.
As The Inquisitr reported earlier this year, Coleman, 80, previously deemed global warming as the greatest scam in history.
Greenpeace co-founder Dr. Patrick Moore has also become a vocal critic of the climate change agenda.
As you may recall, the environmental movement originally sounded the alarm over global cooling, then global warming, prior to the climate change appellation. The Obama White House, which is pushing for various regulatory and policy initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, has adopted “climate disruption” as the new descriptor.
A former TV weatherman who co-founded The Weather Channel in 1981, Coleman expressed his latest views about the “failed science” of global warming in an open letter to organizers of a climate change forum at UCLA.
In the letter that refuted dire warnings from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Coleman wrote in part.
“There is no significant man-made global warming at this time, there has been none in the past and there is no reason to fear any in the future. Efforts to prove the theory that carbon dioxide is a significant ‘greenhouse’ gas and pollutant causing significant warming or weather effects have failed. There has been no warming over 18 years…
…there is no climate crisis. The ocean is not rising significantly. The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number. Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing). I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid… “
“If [Coleman] is indeed telling the truth, then this is probably one of the biggest reveals in the history of man,” opinedTech Times.
Scientists who are part of the climate change consensus have recently admitted that the warming trend has nonetheless been on “a hiatus” for approximately one or two decades.
Princeton University scientist William Happer apparently agrees with Coleman, according to The Express of London.
“No chemical compound in the atmosphere has a worse reputation than CO2, thanks to the single-minded demonization of this natural and essential atmospheric gas by advocates of government control and energy production. The incredible list of supposed horrors that increasing carbon dioxide will bring the world is pure belief disguised as science,” Dr. Happer explained.
Do you think John Coleman’s background with The Weather Channel has any impact on his credibility to render an opinion about climate change?
