‘FIFA 15’ Trading Disabled While EA Resolves Bugs

Americans may not care about soccer unless the U.S. team is in the World Cup, but gamers care about their FIFA 15.

The most recent in a series of EA FIFA-themed games, FIFA 15 was released on September 23 of this year. The game generally got good reviews, but a number of bugs have surfaced early in the game.

While NESN has focused on a bug that can turn goalies into giant green armless monsters, of more concern to most players was a bug that arose in the early weeks as players attempted to trade characters in both the EA Sports Football Club and the FIFA Ultimate Team Hub Transfer Market on the web. These issues were originally posted by Xbox 360 and Xbox One users, according to Latin Post, but some PS4 and PC users have also reported issues. The official EA announcement on October 20 was that the trading features would be disabled while teams worked to resolve the issues.

Meanwhile, a number of phishing websites have arisen, claiming that they will enable players to trade immediately. Latin Post reminded players that they should never give their financial or personal information to unfamiliar websites, and that these unofficial sites are more often than not scams. Players are advised to stick with the official Twitter account when looking for additional information.

Overall, FIFA 15 has been well received critically. The New York Times reviewer stated that the big improvement in the game isn’t particularly new and flashy, but has to do with how the ball is handled. The reviewer noticed more smoothness and fluidity in how the game handled both crosses and shots.

“You don’t just see balls traveling along the same handful of predictable trajectories. Crosses particularly feel a lot punchier, and certain long passes don’t seem as if they’re stuck in the mud.”

The reviewer also stated, however, that the franchise was beginning to feel a bit stale, and was ready for an overhaul.

Meanwhile, Gamespot enjoyed FIFA 15.

“If you’re looking for football that is exciting, exaggerated, and immensely entertaining, FIFA 15 is the game to get.”

CVG gave FIFA 15 a score of 9/10.

“FIFA 15 is the best game of football around. EA has evolved its engine rather than revolutionised it, and it’s worked a treat. But, with friends or without, FIFA 15 plays a rock solid game of football and looks destined for glory again.”

And Game Informer went a quarter point better, with its score of 9.25/10.

“FIFA 15 takes the series into a whole other level with gameplay that betters the surmounting hype that threatened to engulf it. Playing it makes me believe I can do just about anything with the ball at my feet, and this self-assurance is powerful.”

All in all, the game seems to be a solid addition to EA FIFA franchise. Just don’t rage out and throw your console out the window like this kid.
