Kat Von D Tattoo Shop Fire: ‘High Voltage’ Fire Comes Four Years After House Fire

Kat Von D’s tattoo shop caught on fire in West Hollywood on Thursday. The former L.A. Ink star lost much of her shop as the inferno ripped through the strip mall at the 1200 block of North La Brea Avenue, according to The Daily News. Firefighters worked to put out the flames for a few hours and there was significant damage done. According to the report, Von D’s shop, High Voltage, was “red-tagged,” which means authorities have determined that the structure is unsafe for people to go inside.

According to the report, a barbershop next door was also damaged in the blaze. It is unknown how bad the damage is or if either shop will be deemed a total loss.

Kat Von D was outside her tattoo shop when the media showed up to report on the fire. According to TMZ, Von D flipped out on reporters, telling them to “have some respect.” She even knocked the hat off a female photographer’s head in her fit of rage. When asked about the fire or whether she had any idea how the fire started, Kat got even more angry.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Kat couldn’t even formulate full sentences because she was so upset. Von D was obviously very emotional and she kept swearing loudly. She did not have any interest in talking to the media or answering any questions pertaining to what had just happened at her shop.

“C’mon guys. Just have respect, man. You gotta, you gotta, you gotta leave me alone, dude. Seriously. Seriously. Seriously. Like just have some respect. No, seriously. Seriously,” she shouted while throwing her middle finger up in the air in everyone’s faces.

The Kat Von D tattoo shop fire was not the first time that a fire destroyed property occupied by the famed tattoo artist. In 2010, the ink goddess lost her Hollywood Hills home — and her pet cat — in a fire.

Fortunately no one was hurt in the fire in WeHo. Kat Von D has not made mention of the events on her Twitter page, nor has she released a statement of any kind. The High Voltage Facebook page does not specify when the shop will reopen or if they will be moving to another location. Further details will likely be made available next week when Kat Von D has more information about what happened and how she can move forward.
