Honey Boo Boo: Mama June Speaks Out About Alleged Pedophile Boyfriend, Show Cancellation
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Mama June has been the center of controversy this week. When TMZ released a picture of the reality star’s new love interest, several media outlets began reporting the shocking story. TMZ claims she’s reconciled with her ex-boyfriend, Mark McDaniel. But, that’s not all!
Apparently, McDaniel has had his fair share of problems with the law because he was recently released from prison after serving 10 years for child molestation. Now he’s a registered sex offender in the state of Georgia. Needless to say, their rekindled romance has sparked outrage, and the TLC network reportedly isn’t pleased with Mama June’s rumored beau. According to CNN, TLC has even announced their intent to end production on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
Now Mama June is taking time to address the rumors about her split from Sugar Bear, the new alleged relationship, and the cancellation of the show. On Friday, October 24, she took to Facebook with a video statement about the whole ordeal. She insists she’s not seeing McDaniel.
“This a truth video and answering some of y’all question over the last few months since we have had to stay quiet and hope this helps and a appreciation video to all our awesome fans over yrs,” June captioned the video.
Here’s what she has to say.
“Just got a phone call this morning from TLC, and as of right now there will be no more production of the show. The statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue. Pumpkin has openly said that I am not dating him and also his son. I would not ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and don’t seem to want to see that person.”
She also briefly spoke about her split from Sugar Bear, and how she was required to refrain from openly discussing their separation because of the network.
“Things happen for a reason in life. You live and learn. The fan page has stayed quiet for a while because TLC has kind of told us to ‘hush hush.’ But that is pretty much what is going on. We will update later on. We wanted to let you know from the bottom of our hearts that we actually love y’all.”
