Kelly Osbourne has decided to get inked up once more, but this one is a bit more sentimental than the rest of her tattoos. The Fashion Police star went to the tattoo parlor to get new ink in memory of her mentor and friend Joan Rivers.

Less than two months after Rivers’ death, Osbourne took to Instagram to share her new work of art. The tattoo is a tiny bumblebee in white ink, and is placed on her right shoulder. The bumblebee is near a butterfly tattoo she had done years ago.

Osbourne captioned her Joan Rivers memoriam ink with the following.

“In honor of you @joanrivers… If you looked at aerodynamics, at science, the bumble bee should not be able to fly. Physically, it was just not anatomically equipped to soar. Yet it did, defying gravity, defying logic. The bee was a creature that defied and beat the odds, a miracle. Thank you for being my Miracle.”

Although most think that the two met when Kelly signed on for The Fashion Police, after Rivers’ death it was revealed that Osbourne and Rivers went way back. The first time Joan met Kelly was on her short lived daytime talk show. Rivers interviewed Osbourne’s father Ozzy Osbourne in 1991 for the segment “Rock ‘n’ Roll Dads.” Kelly, along with brother Jack and sister Aimee, joined Ozzy for the segment as well. At the time, Kelly was only 6-years-old.

At the time of Rivers passing Kelly, who had been sick, took to her Facebook to express her grief over the loss of her mentor.

“Not only was she my boss, she was and will always be my teacher, therapist, closest friend, inspiration and the only grandmother I ever knew. She was family and I will never forget her.”

She continued, “Laughter will be difficult for a while but when I’m sad, lonely or upset all I will have to do is think of Joan and a smile will cross my face. Laughter is what she gave us and laughter is what she would want us to do in remembrance of her. Melissa and Cooper, my thoughts are with you and I love you both so much. Joan, thank you for taking me in and loving me as a daughter. I will miss you deeply and will always hear your voice in my head saying ‘my darling get out there and be you!”
