Actor Hugh Grant, known for films such as “Notting Hill” and “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” became a dad for the first time, welcoming a baby girl in early October, the actor’s rep Carrie Gordon told E!News.
“I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl.” E! quoted the rep as saying. “He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”
Although the mother of the British actor’s child currently remains unidentified, 51-year-old Grant was most recently dating Chinese actress Tinglan Hong back in April.
Grant’s last serious relationship with heiress Jemima Khan ended in 2007 after three years together. Before her he famously dated fellow Brit Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years before the pair parted ways in 2000.
As for the big screen, Hugh Grant will next voice the role of a captain in The Pirates! Band of Misfits, a 3-D stop-motion animated film slated to land in U.S. theaters on March 30, 2012.
