Welcome To ‘Reagan’: Conservative Author Douglas MacKinnon Wants The South To Form A New Nation In Honor Of Former President

Conservative author Douglas MacKinnon has expressed the need for southern conservative states to break away from the Unites States in order to form a new nation that will “attack all faith in God with a particular and unhinged bias against the Christian faith.” MacKinnon promoting his new book, The Secessionist States of America: The Blueprint for Creating a Traditional Values Country … Now, has proposed to name the new nation “Reagan,” in honor of the 40th President of the United States of America.

Douglas MacKinnon, a former speechwriter for Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush, told right-wing radio host Janet Mefferd yesterday that his proposal for “Reagan” with the aid of “a constitutional law expert, two former military officers, two former diplomats, a minister, another special operator, and experts on banking, energy, farming, and infrastructure.”

MacKinnon has surprisingly decided to leave out Texas in the proposed plan in fear of incursions from Mexicans. He said “there have been a number of incursions into Texas and other places from some of the folks in Mexico.” However, “Reagan” would include states such as Florida, Georgia and South Carolina with hopes of other states joining in.

“We look at what states would be viable in terms of doing something like this. In fact, what states would provide sort of the new landmass for a new republic dedicated to traditional values. And the consensus was that the three best states in the union would be South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.”

MacKinnon describes his vision of “Reagan” as a nation that would “do away with the rule-of-law, expand the nanny state into a theology, bankrupt or punish American companies in the name of fighting climate change, do away with the 2nd Amendment, censor or demonize the history of western civilization and replace it with multiculturalism, give every kid a trophy and turn them into wimps, continue to support the completely unfunded public-employee pensions which are destroying the financial solvency of cities, counties, and states across our nation, add billions every day to our $17 trillion in debt, destroy our health-care system to substitute socialized medicine, vilify fossil fuels, and attack all faith in God with a particular and unhinged bias against the Christian faith.”

Mackinnon made no mention of how such minority groups such as Muslims and homosexuals would be treated in “Reagan.” However, he went on to say that “if you happen to refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple because it goes against your religious beliefs, you can be driven out of business… if you’re a football commentator and you happen to just say innocently that maybe I wouldn’t have drafted a gay football player because I wouldn’t want to deal with the distraction, many people on the left will try to drive you out of your job as well.”

“I simply want those who believe the downward spiral of our country is irreversible, to know that an option to preserve their values does exist. That some folks with a great deal of real-world experience felt it was their responsibility to at least explore the possibility of secession.”

Mackinnon expressed no concerns of the possible backlash that the right-wing utopia of “Reagan” would create. The last time the South tried to secede, they created a nasty civil war that killed 620,000 soldiers.
