‘Shark Tank’ Spin-Off Show Is Official: ‘Beyond The Tank’ Announced By ABC

A Shark Tank spin-off show has been ordered by ABC and fans are surely going to love this idea. Many viewers of the popular series find themselves curious about what happens to the companies after the show and now everybody will find out. Though the network has ordered just a handful of episodes for now, fans have a feeling this could be a big hit.

Entertainment Weekly shares that the Shark Tank spin-off will be titled Beyond the Tank. While viewers of the original show do get some updates on businesses that strike deals within the current episodes, this new show will provide much more in-depth follow-ups.

At this point, Beyond the Tank will consist of 10 hour-long episodes. Mark Burnett will be the executive producer, which makes sense given his involvement with the original series. There is no premiere date revealed as of yet for the new show.

It seems a variety of deals will be featured, including some that never come together after the show. Beyond the Tank will show what happens after the deals are made on Shark Tank and it seems that each of the investors will be in the mix of things.

Shark Tank is currently airing Season 6 of the show on ABC Friday nights and it’s a strong show on CNBC as well. The 100th episode will be airing in November. As Deadline notes, Shark Tank reruns are CNBC’s most-watched primetime show. The show regularly rakes in ratings on Friday nights on ABC as well.

The Hollywood Reporter points out that the current Shark Tank series bounced around a bit in terms of time slots, but has settled into Friday nights nicely. Season 5 averaged just over 7 million viewers and fared quite well in the all-important adult 18-49 demographic. It’s not known yet where ABC will place this new show in the schedule, but of course fans hope to see it paired with new episodes of the current series.

People will have to wait a while to see which business ideas are featured in the Shark Tank spin-off. However, it does seem that show staples Kevin O’Leary, Marc Cuban, Daymond John, Lori Greiner, Barbara Corcoran and Robert Herjavec will all be incorporated into the new series.

Shark Tank fans are always curious what comes of these business deals once the cameras stop rolling, and it is said that many of the deals never move forward. Once Beyond the Tank premieres, viewers will at least get to learn the fate of some of the most intriguing prospects.
