For over half a century the Roswell alien conspiracy has tantalized the taste buds, captured the imagination, and provided substantial foil for the tin hats of conspiracy theorists worldwide.
No-one has really provided a definite answer to what exactly happened on that fateful July 8 night in 1947 when a sleepy little backwater town in New Mexico became the focal point of the biggest extraterrestrial hunt in history.
Did a flying saucer really crash into the desert near Roswell? Or was it nothing more than a downed surveillance balloon as the U.S. military claimed at the time? Were there really aliens, both alive and dying scattered amongst the wreckage, and was the technology discovered at the site responsible for the creation of the iPhone? Who knows?
Although Roswell has been called “the world’s most famous, most exhaustively investigated, and most thoroughly debunked UFO claim,” it still generates more interest than you can shake a JFK shaped stick at.
Karl Pflock once wrote, “The case for Roswell is a classic example of the triumph of quantity over quality. The advocates of the crashed-saucer tale simply shovel everything that seems to support their view into the box marked ‘Evidence’ and say, ‘See? Look at all this stuff. We must be right.’ Never mind the contradictions. Never mind the lack of independent supporting fact. Never mind the blatant absurdities.
“The UFO field is comprised of people who are willing to take advantage of the gullibility of others, especially the paying public. Let’s not pull any punches here: The Roswell UFO myth has been very good business for UFO groups, publishers, for Hollywood, the town of Roswell, the media, and UFOlogy. The number of researchers who employ science and its disciplined methodology is appallingly small.”
Pflock might be interested to know that a new German documentary claims that Roswell has nothing at all to do with aliens, but absolutely everything to do with the Nazis.
The Mirror reports that the makers behind the new documentary claim they are in possession of startling new evidence which proves the mysterious flying saucer was in fact a top secret Nazi rocket which was the predecessor to today’s stealth fighter.
Although the Second World War ended in 1945, U.S. intelligence and military services secretly brought many scientists, particularly scientists specializing in aerodynamics, rocketry, chemical weapons, and chemical reaction technology to America after the war.
Roughly around 500 of these scientists and their families arrived in the United States without State Department review and approval. Their service to Hitler’s Third Reich, SS membership, and in some cases, war criminal status, prevented them from officially obtaining visas.
Operation Paperclip was the codename behind the project, much of which is still classified to this day. The majority of the scientists were deployed at White Sands Proving Ground, New Mexico, Fort Bliss, Texas and Huntsville, Alabama to work on guided missile and ballistic missile technology. This in turn led to the foundation of NASA and the US ICBM program.
Notorious Nazi war criminal and mass killer, SS General Hans Kammler, responsible for Auschwitz’s labor factories and Germany’s V-2 rocket plants was alleged to be among those who worked for the U.S. during the Cold War.
The Daily Express reports that the documentary entitled UFOs in the Third Reich claims the Roswell incident was linked to testing of the ‘Bell,’ a copper colored aircraft three metres in diameter, the core of which was a futuristic propulsion unit which used electric particles to fly.
Throughout World War Two, both U.S. and British bomber crews reported sightings of strange flying machines which were generally described as Foo Fighters. These incidents are now believed to be sightings of the Bell during test flights.
In his 2000 book, Prawda O Wunderwaffe, Polish journalist and historian of military and aerospace technology, Igo Witkowski, wrote extensively about Hitler’s determination to have his greatest scientists and engineers working on a ‘bell-shaped craft’.
German engineer Georg Klein, who went on to have a distinguished postwar career as an aeronautical engineer, has claimed that designs for the Bell were definitely being developed during the Third Reich and its involvement in the Roswell alien conspiracy is extremely likely.
“I don’t consider myself a crackpot or eccentric or someone given to fantasies.
“This is what I saw, with my own eyes – a Nazi UFO.”
