Jason Derulo To Follow Taylor Swift, Will Sing About Jordin Sparks Heartache

Singer Jason Derulo is taking a page out of Taylor Swift’s book. The singer, who recently split from R&B star Jordin Sparks, will turn that heartache into his artistry and plans to sing about their relationship troubles.

Opening up to Billboard magazine, Derulo waxed on about the recent events in his life.

“I think sometimes in life things are placed in our lives as a lesson, so you’ve got to take every negative experience and turn that thing into a positive.”

Even though personally he could be doing better, in terms of how he is mentally Derulo insists that he’s doing “good” following the split. Channeling his heartache into something productive, Jason is currently focusing on his career and family.

As for what he’s planning for his career, it sounds like Derulo is heading for a reinvention of sorts. All of his heartache will be used for “inspiration” for his new songs whether Sparks likes it or not.

“I’m somebody who cannot keep those two things separate. I cannot separate the two. My creativity, my personality won’t allow me to… If that’s what’s going on in my life, that’s in the songs I make as well.”

As The Inquisitr reported, Derulo opened up about the shocking split. At the time, Derulo released a statement about the end of their relationship.

“I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part. Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives.”

According to The Daily Mail, the pressure to propose was too much even though Derulo wrote his hit single “Marry Me” for Sparks.

When the song first came out the singer was open with discussing the sweet sentiment.

“It is about Jordin, actually. It’s talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life. You can’t fake anything because true love is true love, and that’s the basis of our relationship.”

As for Jordin, she has remained positive on her Twitter account and posting about her day to let fans know she’s in great spirits.
