Robert Downey Jr. Now Literally Owns The ‘Avengers’ Emblem From Stark Tower

While it certainly isn’t unheard of for actors to take home mementos from the movies in which they star, Robert Downey Jr. may have just received one of the most unusual, and largest, props from his film career.

According to The Mirror, the 49-year-old Downey was recently gifted the 30-foot tall emblem he once joked about owning while filming the 2012 hit The Avengers. In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Downey related that the one-of-a-kind piece arrived at his office unexpectedly.

“On the last Avengers, there’s this scene where there’s this ‘A’ which is probably 30 feet tall and I’m looking at it, and we’re shooting in England, and I go, ‘I need that in my office in Venice.’ About two weeks ago, a wheeler showed up, I’m like, ‘What the heck is this doing here?!’ And they go, ‘This is the ‘A’ you asked for.’ And I go, ‘They brought it?!’ So now we have a massive Avengers ‘A’ that will be prominently placed.”

Surprisingly, Downey noted that he doesn’t own a complete set of armor, according to io9. Downey acknowledged that he was disappointed that he hadn’t kept a full armored suit from any of the three Iron Man films in which he has starred, though he does have something else with which to remember the films.

“That’s a tough commodity,” he said, adding, “I have some helmets!”

Hollywood’s highest paid actor last year, Robert Downey Jr. recently sparked controversy when he seemingly confirmed that he would star in a fourth Iron Man film, as The Inquisitr previously reported. Appearing on The Ellen Show, Downey acquiesced when Ellen asked him if a fourth Iron Man would be filmed. Later that day, however, during an interview with David Letterman, Downey clarified his answer.

“There’s no plans for an ‘Iron Man 4,'” Downey said. “There’s no script for an ‘Iron Man 4,’ but [Marvel] does have a plan and I think [Marvel is] going to announce it… they’ve been very secretive about it.”

Downey went on to say that while he wouldn’t be shooting Iron Man 4 anytime soon, he has other projects with Marvel in the works. While he didn’t elaborate on what those plans might entail, fans were quick to speculate that the third Avengers film would star Downey.

Whatever the future holds for Robert Downey Jr and Marvel, fans will likely see him portraying Tony Stark for some time.
