WWE News: NXT Takeover Possibly Scheduled For WrestleMania 31?

The minor leagues of any professional sport shouldn’t be better than the professional level itself. MLB’s minor leagues cannot even compete with the Major League Baseball. NBA’s D-League doesn’t compare to the NBA. Granted, the WWE is a vastly different organization than any other professional sport, but its minor leagues shouldn’t be competing. Is it just me, or is NXT much better than the WWE’s main roster?

Fans certainly think so, and Triple H, the mastermind behind NXT, talked about certain fans loving NXT over the WWE.

“I’m flattered people love the product. I’m excited for these kids. At the end of the day the goal is to get them to the main roster, but the bigger I can make the platform for them to jump off of onto that main roster, the better it is.”

With great confidence, the NXT specials are easily the more exciting product to watch. Not only are the wrestlers better in the ring than most of the main-event talent, but also they are all trying to make it to the main roster. That hunger to be on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown is portrayed through every match. Heck, Charlotte makes 95 percent of the Divas on Raw or SmackDown look like amateurs. Yes, she is that good.

Think about the NXT specials that already occurred, what jumped out to you? Sami Zayn and Cesaro wrestled two of the greatest matches in recent memory, Adrian Neville, Tyler Breeze, Tyson Kidd, and Zayn put on a spectacle of a main event. Even guys like Enzo Amore and Big Cass simply bring out the fun of professional wrestling. Triple H is the brains of the operation, and he’s letting the product speak for itself. Vince McMahon just cannot compete anymore.

Due to their huge success, there’s a chance that the WWE Universe could see an NXT special at WrestleMania 31.

“According to PWInsider.com, if WWE follows its four month schedule, the next live NXT special would take place in March 2015, right around the same time as WrestleMania 31.

“There has been a lot of speculation within WWE that the company might bring the NXT crew to San Francisco for a live NXT Network special during WrestleMania 31 weekend.

“There might be issues running an event the size of WWE NXT Takeover with all the AXXESS events going on, but that weekend would give the NXT brand a major platform for exposure.”

This might sound crazy, but people might rather see a NXT special over half of a WrestleMania card. The NXT rookies leave everything in that ring after it’s all said and done. There are certain superstars who are content with the spot they are in, which shows blatant complacency. It ruins the match, and sometimes the show. Nobody wants to see John Cena in the main event anymore.

On a regular basis, the WWE Universe hears rumors of the NXT stars making their debut on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown. Not only that, but the top guys in NXT continue to get noticed by the WWE officials. Just like CM Punk said, the point is to grab those brass rings right?

A lot people won’t admit that NXT is a much-better show than WWE’s top programs. Yes, Raw has guys like Paul Heyman, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar, but that’s only a tiny portion of the three-hour show. NXT is one hour, and they use that 60 minutes to perfection. Triple H built an empire in NXT. Sooner or later, McMahon will realize that too.
