Stephen Collins Actor Won’t Face Prosecution, Molestation Cases Too Old

Stephen Collins will not face prosecution in any of the three sexual molestation cases for which he was being investigated. According to the most recent report by TMZ, the sexual molestation cases are too old. The statue of limitations has run out on two of the cases, and the victim in the third case has not come forward.

Stephen Collins is out of the woods, unless the district attorney can come up with a recent victim who is willing to talk. Inquisitr reported last week that Collins was being investigated for the sexual molestations of three girls under the age of 13, molestations that were allegedly committed over 20 years ago. An explosive audio taped confession features Stephen Collins speaking in confidence at a therapy session, where he admitted that he had inappropriately touched some under aged girls. His wife Faye, can be heard on the tape coaxing him to make the confession, which he does reluctantly.

The Los Angeles Police Department had been alerted about one of the cases a couple of years back, but there was not enough evidence to pursue the case. With the newest accusations and the confession, police were prepared to look at the cases again to see if any charges could be filed, but lack of evidence and the passage of time has made that impossible.

The attorney for Stephen Collins has gone on record to say that revealing the audiotapes was a ploy by Faye Grant to get money out of the case.

“Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled. When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted — without success — to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape — not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled.”

Faye Grant denied having anything to do with the release of Stephen Collins’ confession tape. The weepy-eyed actor portrayed a pedophile in the Lifetime movie Babysitter’s Seduction, and in the movie Penance, where he portrayed a priest with an appetite for children, according to the Daily Mail. Though Collins will not face prosecution in these cases, the damage is done. He recently resigned from the Screen Actors Guild Board. He was fired from Ted 2, and his talent agency has let him go. Essentially, the once-respected actor’s career is over.
