Miley Cyrus’ Twerking Video Is ‘Tacky,’ Says Pink, But The Nae Nae Is Replacing The Twerk Anyway

Miley Cyrus’ twerking video days are apparently over, now forever to be replaced by Cyrus doing the Nae Nae. That is apparently a good move since other famous acts, like Pink, are publicly saying that Miley Cyrus’ twerking is flat out tacky.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, one thing that may have Miley Cyrus twerking mad is a vanished secret sex journal. A former school teacher also says she made more money twerking for six seconds than she she did teaching in the public education system.

According to E! Online, Pink talked about Miley Cyrus’ twerking while discussing her new movie Thanks For Sharing.

“Am I into it? No, I think it’s tacky. She’s really freaking talented. She’s beautiful. She can sing her ass off and to go up there and do that? She’s cheating herself and she’s cheating the rest of us…She can do what she wants. People can like it if they want. I’m not going to buy it. She can do better. I’ve seen her do better.”

Of course, this has costar Josh Gad joking that Pink twerks all the time, which had the performer playing along. “I twerk all the time like a mofo,” she said. “There’s a place for that and it’s not on stage.” Pink says the difference between her and Cyrus is that she tries to inject a sense of “class and creativity” into her performances on stage.

“I’m a performer and I take my craft very, very seriously and I always try to evolve and be better and I never just kind of phone it in, because I believe if people are going to get up and get out of bed and go to work and spend their hard-earned money on me to entertain their family, I’m going to do it well and I’m going to do it interestingly and with class and creativity. I’m not saying I always get there, but that’s where I try to get to.”

Apparently, Miley Cyrus happens to agree with Pink that the twerk needs to go. She says she picked up a new dance move called the Nae Nae from her dancers.

“My dancers—the L.A. Bakers—they started doing it, and I’m like, ‘What is that?'” she said. ” So then I started doing that, which is kind of what happened with the twerking, too.”

The Atlanta dance group We Are Toonz is credited with coming up with the new twerking replacement called the Nae Nae. Group member CalLamar explained, “It’s really just based on a ratchet girl in the club dancing kind of funny and the best girl to describe it is Sheneneh from ‘Martin.'”

While Miley Cyrus’ twerking video days may be disappearing, it’s a question whether the Nae Nae will catch on. Cyrus says she’s tried to do it at her current shows in Australia, but none of the cheering Aussies are joining in on her dance. So if you want to learn the Nae Nae, here is how you do it.
