The World’s Smartest Hamster Has Figured Out How To Use Exercise Wheel While Lying Down
Do you want to meet the world’s smartest hamster? Of course you do; he’s a genius. But why is he a genius? Well, it turns out that he’s learnt how to keep fit by almost not moving his body in the slightest.
A 15-second clip has emerged on YouTube which shows the crazy little fella laying on his back and still managing to spin his exercise wheel at a ferocious pace.
However, he’s probably not feeling the actual benefit of the device in the way that its intended. But you’ve got to give him bonus points for being stylish and unique. He must be the talk of the entire hamster world. You can watch his ingenious effort below.
The footage was uploaded to YouTube under the name, “Upside-Down Running Hamster,” by the account user, Ben Bever. So far, it has managed to gain over 175,000 hits but it’s only been over the last few days when it has gained popularity. This is despite the fact that it was uploaded back in March 2013.
Bever took to his account to to explain, “Was in the pet store, and saw this little girl on her back under her hamster-wheel. Was worried she was stuck or something, but she got out and ran around her cage then climbed back under there. She seemed perfectly content using her wheel upside-down.”
It’s hard to decipher if the hamster is actually incredibly smart, a little bit of an idiot or just adorably lazy. I’d like to think it’s the first of this trio, but there’s every chance that it’s all three. However, you can’t help but be impressed by him.
YouTube users soon started to praise the hamster with user Scott Strong remarking, “World’s smartest hamster. Can go as fast as he wants, doesn’t risk getting spun around when he stops.” Meanwhile, Mien Monda actually declared that he thought the creature was “trying to get out,” before Tiffany J’adore added, “Someone needs to show him/her the instructions.”
It has been quite an action packed few weeks for hamsters. News broke last month that firefighters had saved an entire hamster family from a mobile home fire by placing oxygen tubing over their faces to get the smoke out of their lungs. You can check out an image of their efforts below.
