$680,000 Home Wrong Lot: Dream Florida Beach House Built On Wrong Lot

A $680,000 home was built on the wrong lot, leaving the new owners with quite a headache. According to The SpreadIt, Mark and Brenda Voss of Missouri wanted to build a fancy home near Palm Coast, right near the water. They hired a building company and got their plans underway. However, the company ended up building the beautiful home on the lot across the street — oops?

The beach house is absolutely stunning. It has “5.5 bathrooms, a home theater, game room and screened-in pool,” but it’s in the wrong location. The lot that the house was built on belongs to a couple from North Carolina. Andrew Massaro and Brooke Triplett now have a beautiful home on their property that they didn’t put there.

The $680,000 home on the wrong lot story gets even more interesting. Apparently, the Voss’ — who own a “well-established” real estate company — own 18 different lots in the gated community. Unfortunately, their builders picked one lot that didn’t belong to them. According to FOX News, Mark and his wife are in “total disbelief” that something like this even happened.

“We may have moved (to Ocean Hammock) someday. But, with this headache and grief, we’re not so sure. The Midwest is looking pretty good right now,” said Mark Voss. Meanwhile, Mark and Brenda have hired a lawyer. The Vice President of Keystone Homes released the following statement.

“The buck stops with the builder. We know that. We are in the process of trying to schedule a conference call and find a fair resolution without the lawyers.”

A $680,000 home on the wrong lot does absolutely nothing for anyone — and the simplest solution might be for the building company to eat their loss or for the lot owners to sell their land to the Voss’ in a trade for another lot in the community. Tearing that beautiful home down wouldn’t really make sense to anyone involved — but who knows what is going to happen?

According to The Inquisitr, gated communities are making a comeback across the country. Despite many of these communities being quite exclusive — and expensive — people want to be a part of them. And there are many reasons why. For starters, there is a sense of belonging. Next, there is a higher level of security for residents in the community. Also, the amenities in these communities tend to be amazing. From gyms to swimming pools, there are plenty of perks to living in a gated community — just so long as you’re living in the right house on the right lot.
