Andrew Bloomfield Dead: Ohio Groom Dies In Car Accident Hours After Getting Married

An Ohio groom tragically died just hours after he exchanged vows with his new bride, while he was on the way to his reception.

27-year-old Andrew Bloomfield was being driven to the event in the same car as his wife, 37-year-old Ruth Driskill, when the tragic accident took place. 26-year-old Elizabeth Shelton, who was a close friend of Andrew, also died in the crash too.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, while Andrew later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital in Wyandot County, northern Ohio. Currently, Ruth Driskill, and the driver, Timothy Tebbe, are in a critical condition.

According to The Mirror, The Bucyrus Telegraph Forum have reported that the tragedy occurred after the truck slide off the road before then crashing just after 4 p.m. The publication also added that the four of them had just been to Tebbe’s home and were on there way back to the wedding reception.

The sheriff’s office went on to declare that the pickup truck struck a pole after it had collided with an embankment, before it then went on to roll over numerous times and eventually came to a stop in a cornfield. According to Wyandot County Sheriff Michael R. Hetzel, officers who have since analyzed the scene have revealed that it appears as though no-one inside the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.

Hetzel also went on to declare that, according to various statements that were taken from people who attended the wedding, alcohol was probably a contributing factor in the crash. However, it must also be noted that hasn’t been proven at this point.

Cruelly, just before Andrew died, he went to his Facebook page and uploaded a status that declared he was “ready to start a new chapter” of his life. He also wrote, “I never thought I would find that person to settle down with but I guess I just got lucky. Soon I will be a married man.”

One of Bloomfield’s close friends, Jessica Lehner, heaped praise on to him after she learned of the news. “They were just getting read to start a life together and then three hours later or so, it just happened, and he’s just gone,” she commented.
