Madonna Stalker Sent to Psychiatric Detention

A man who stalked Madonna and broke into two of her homes has been put in indefinite detention in a psychiatric hostpital.

30-year-old Polish man Grzegorz Matlok twice broke into Madonna’s residences, rifled through her clothes and fridge, tried on her then-husband Guy Ritchie’s clothes, and slept in her bed.

Perhaps understandably, Madonna is pretty disturbed by this. In a statement read out on her behalf at Southwark Crown Court, the First Lady of Pop said:

“I do not know the defendant, I’ve not had any form of relationship with the defendant nor have I had any form of contact by phone or by email, or by any other way, with the defendant. In particular, I’ve never given the defendant permission to enter the premises or any of my other premises. It is extremely unsettling to know that, despite the extensive security I have, he has been able to break into two of my residential properties. I’m worried about my children’s safety as well as the safety of my staff.”

At the same hearing, a psychiatrist stated that Matlok suffered from schizophrenia, and that he was under the delusion Madonna loved him.

After first using a rope and scaffolding to enter her property in 2010 (when he slept in her bed), Matlok returned in March 2011 to look through her clothes and take a can of Red Bull from her fridge before being discovered. Unsettlingly, he was found with nail scissors, a safety knife, his passport, a plane ticket, and a map of the local area with a “M” scrawled over her home. Oo-er.

When questioned by authorities, Matlock stated Madonna had given him permission to stay at her home (yes, that old chestnut).

Judge Deborah Taylor ruled that he must be confined in psychiatric detention to ensure that his schizophrenia is properly medicated. Matlock must also stay at least 100 meters away from any of Madonna’s numerous properties.
