Jodie Foster’s House Sells: Actress Unloads Hollywood Hills Home For $4.995M
Actress Jodie Foster’s house in Hollywood Hills, California, has sold for just under $5 million. The property had been on the market for some time, and the actress finally found a buyer after lowering the price a couple of times.
AOL Real Estate shares that Jodie Foster’s home was initially listed in June 2013 with a price of $6.4 million. The home is located in the exclusive Bird Streets area of Hollywood Hills, but it wasn’t until the actress accepted a price of $4.995 million that she was able to unload it. The deal is said to have closed on October 6.
Foster purchased the home in 1995 from model Cheryl Tiegs. The Wall Street Journal notes that Jodie Foster’s house has about 6,000-square-feet. There are five bedrooms and six bathrooms. There is a master suite that has a fireplace, sauna, walk-in closets, and a sitting area, and the home also has a screening room and an office.
There is a high-end kitchen in Jodie Foster’s house along with a butler’s pantry and a formal dining room. The property also has an attached guest suite. After sitting for some time at the $6.4 million price, Foster reduced the price to $5.6 a few months ago, and then lowered it again to $4.995 million.
The home features a skylighted entry and a step-down living room that has a cathedral ceiling, and there is a stone fireplace. Residents can embrace views of Century City, and the exterior boasts a courtyard, French doors that open to an outdoor seating area, gardens, and a swimming pool. The property sits on three acres of land.
The Spanish-style home was built in 1935, and it was Jodie’s primary residence for a number of years. Though the buyers remain unidentified, the buyers’ representatives said that they loved the “Spanish charm” of the home. Very little needed to be done upon moving in, it seems, as it was in immaculate condition.
The home is not only in an exclusive area of Hollywood Hills, it has a high-reaching hedge to ensure privacy. As Foster’s fans know, she is notoriously private, and it seems this home was a good fit for her for a number of years.
The actress has made a couple of other real estate moves in the last couple of years as well, selling a mansion in Beverly Hills for $8.3 million in January 2012, and purchasing a different Beverly Hills home for $11.75 million in June 2012. Now that this deal on Jodie Foster’s house is done, it would seems she can likely relax when it comes to real estate for a bit. While this home is an entirely different type of property from Mark Wahlberg’s mansion, which has recently made headlines, it certain appears to be an exquisite home.
