Jessa Duggar's future father-in-law thinks that critics of her anti-abortion stance are just as horrible as Hitler.
Michael Seewald, the father of Ben Seewald (pictured above left), used his personal blog to respond to those who criticized Jessa Duggar for comparing abortion to the Holocaust. He showed his support for his future daughter-in-law by revealing that he feels the same way about abortion and the genocide of millions of Jewish men, women, and children. E! News shared a few segments of his lengthy rant.
"The Holocaust was the deliberate extermination of a certain class of people. Those in power deemed some people to be subhuman and unwanted in society and so they gathered them up and killed them. Abortion also is the extermination of a certain class of people deemed unworthy to live. The powers that be have legalized murder just as they did during the Holocaust."
As The Inquisitr previously reported, Jessa Duggar made her controversial comments about abortion and the Holocaust after she and Ben Seewald visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. The 19 Kids & Counting star shared her thoughts about the visit on Instagram, and she posted her screed alongside a photo of concentration camp prisoners.
"May we never sit idly by and allow such an atrocity to happen again. Not this generation. We must be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS. #ProLife."
The "ProLife" hashtag made it appear as though Jessa Duggar was equating abortion to the Holocaust, and this caused a huge backlash online.
"Regardless of how one feels about the morality of abortion though, comparing it to one of the greatest horrors in modern history is insensitive and clueless, to say the least," Cosmopolitan writer Jill Filipovic wrote. "And the comparison wasn't a casual, thoughtless one — Jessa had just walked out of the Holocaust museum, and instead of absorbing the scale of that atrocity, decided to make a point about abortion rights. That's not just tone-deaf; it's deranged."
Jessa Duggar's father-in-law responded to criticism like this by comparing the "preborn" to the Jewish men and women who were starved, enslaved, and exterminated in concentration camps, sometimes suffering for years. Michael Seewald explained why he believes abortion is no different from this horrible chapter in human history.
"They may protest and say that the preborn are not fully human as the Jew's [sic] are, but even making that assertion makes them more like the Nazis than they want to be because that was how the Nazis viewed the Jews. The Jews were non persons in the eyes of the German government just as the preborn are to ours."
Michael ended his rant by commending Jessa Duggar, comparing her critics to Hitler, and revealing that he's a Rush Limbaugh fan.
"Bravo, Jessa, for daring to speak out against one of the great evils of our time even if it means that Hitler's doppelgangers are enraged. Maybe this is why Rush Limbaugh calls radical feminists 'Femi-Nazis.'"
Michael's views have obviously been passed down to Ben Seewald, as Ben referenced the "abortion holocaust" in a Facebook post just last month. However, Jessa Duggar isn't just absorbing her views on abortion and the Holocaust from Ben Seewald and his family; according to Us Weekly, Michelle Duggar once called abortion a "baby holocaust."
Bustle reports that Jessa Duggar's future father-in-law also has some pretty controversial views when it comes to women. In one post, he revealed that he has an issue with women serving in the military and being pastors in churches. Seewald explained that he considers himself a "complementarian."
"An egalitarian would have no problem with women pastors in churches, or with women in combat. The complementarian, on the other hand, would see it as the man's role to lead churches or to fight in combat."
