McCarran International Airport was reportedly placed on lockdown in Las Vegas due to two possible Ebola victims. Nevada health officials have stated that a sick passenger on a Delta flight from New York does not meet the “criteria” for Ebola, according to breaking news reports. Local My News 3 reported that Delta Flight 495 from JFK Airport landed with one passenger who had recently traveled to Africa. The passenger reportedly vomited on the airplane.
Las Vegas airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said the Delta flight was quarantined at the gate.
“Clark County Fire Department, the Centers for Disease Control and the Southern Nevada Health District have responded. After a thorough assessment, it has been determined that the affected passenger does not meet the criteria for Ebola,” a media release said.
Ambulances and CCFD vehicles quickly converged upon Delta flight 495 after it landed. An area hospital was contacted by McCarran International Airport staff to inform them that two unconfirmed cases of patients with Ebola-like symptoms would be arriving.
