Stephen Collins’ Wife Claims She Had Nothing To Do With Leaked Recording

Stephen Collins has been heavily criticized over the reported child molestation allegations against him but his estranged wife, Faye Grant, is now making headlines because of claims which state that she’s threatened to use and/or release private recordings in order to get more money out of her divorce with the 7th Heaven actor.

The private recordings in question are the ones previously released by TMZ in which Collins allegedly admits to child molestation and other obscene acts involving minors. According to a previous report by The Inquisitr, Stephen Collins‘ lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, recently told TMZ that Grant has been trying to sell the voice recording for years.

“Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled. When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted — without success — to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape — not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled.”

According to US Weekly, Grant’s lawyer, Larry Ginsberg, released a statement on Grant’s behalf that claims that she had nothing to do with the leaked recording.

“This is a deeply sad situation for everyone involved,” Grant, 57, said in her statement. “With regard to the divorce proceedings, I am seeking no more than that to which I am legally entitled under the laws of the State of California. The recording of Mr. Collins has not been part of family court proceedings or any negotiations related to that action at any time.”

Ginsberg went on to add that Collins’ lawyer is attempting to turn Grant into the “villain” in the situation by making claims that she had attempted to extort her estranged husband.

“The statement that my client attempted to extort Mr. Stephen Collins with an audiotape is fabricated and defamatory, and could not be farther from the truth,” Ginsberg said in the statement. “In fact, Faye turned over the recording to the LAPD and NYPD two years ago after Mr. Collins refused to address and get help with regard to his reprehensible conduct.”

New claims against Grant’s actions are surfacing every day. TMZ recently reported that Grant asked a witness to make false claims about sexual molestation to authorities. The report went on to say that when the witness refused to lie, “Grant went on the warpath.”

Because of the allegations against Stephen Collins, he has been fired from Ted 2, Scandal, and all episodes of 7th Heaven have begun to be pulled from television. Stay tuned as the cases against Stephen Collins and Faye Grant continue to heat up.
