Michael Muhney: Responds To ‘Young And The Restless’ Firing, Updates Fans On New Projects

Michael Muhney continues to remain relevant despite the fact that another actor has filled his former role as Adam Newman on The Young and the Restless. Fans held out hope that Michael would return to the CBS soap opera, but nothing came of it. Mistresses and Revenge star Justin Hartley is recast in the iconic role.

In a report out by Soap Central, it cites Australia’s TV Week Soap Extra, a TV magazine, Muhney spoke with regarding his abrupt departure from Y&R last December.

“First of all, there is no one anywhere, of any official capacity, who ever made any of those allegations. If there were, I would be the first person to come out and say, ‘Hey, now, I’ve got to take you to court because what you’ve just said is lies and I have to sue you for libel and slander.’

“I remember sitting down in the final ten months of my tenure with the executive producer and saying, ‘Things have to change. You guys are going to have to fire me or I’m going to have to quit.’ I told them that several times.”

Muhney was supposedly fired from the show because there were allegations that he groped co-star Hunter King. No one has officially released a statement surrounding the speculations.

Michael Muhney has several projects in the works. He posted a message on Twitter Tuesday.

“Got another film offer yesterday. #4!! We should close the deal in the next few weeks and begin filming that movie in January! I promise I will always tweet the movie title & date when the premieres are around the corner! I’ll keep you informed!”

The actor notes that he can’t reveal the titles of films just yet, but he tweeted what his next three roles will entail.

“My latest film roles: 1) The love interest & antagonist. 2) A married man in the closet, coming out. 3) A Redneck White Trash Pimp. #THESPIANism.”

That’s not all. Muhney tweeted about another role he’ll be in.

“And this 4th movie? Leading role starts shooting in January. WWII soldier fighting the Nazis…it’s English Patient meets Boys From Brazil!”

Michael has a strong fan base, and those hiring him for a string of movie roles are aware of that. Allegations against the former soap star are fading in terms of his acting career getting a major reboot. The high-profile scandal gave way to a potentially scarring reputation, but Michael Muhney is moving forward with a lot ahead of him.
