Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordan-Levitt the New Power Couple? Nope

In the latest issue of US Weekly the magazine claims that Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordan-Levitt were spotted making out in New York City. The two have reportedly gotten pretty cozy since Johansson split from Ryan Reynolds, but a rep for Levitt says that the kiss is just a rumor.

In the new US Weekly, which hits stands Friday, the magazine quotes a witness saying:

“They were kissing. They were very lovey. They first met about a film they wanted to do together, but it’s gone beyond that now.”

US Weekly reports that Levitt and Johansson have been seen a few times together in New York, and had a few romantic dinners in the SoHo area.

But Gordan-Levitt’s rep says that the two stars are not romantically involved. His rep said that Levitt wasn’t even in New York at the time of the alleged make out session.

Gordan-Levitt’s rep told Celebuzz:

“Joseph wasn’t even in NYC the night that US Weekly is reporting they were spotted together.”

Was US Weekly just trying to sell magazines? Is Levitt’s rep lying? Why would he want to lie about dating ScarJo?
