Jennifer Lawrence On ‘The Fappening’: ‘It’s A Sex Crime’

Jennifer Lawrence has spoken out about her leaked nude photos once again. The Hunger Games star has told the press it’s not a scandal, but a sex crime.

Lawrence was among a crowd of celebrities whose naked pictures were leaked in an online hacking event which came to be called “The Fappening” by Reddit and 4Chan users. Others victimized in the online leak were Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Upton, Rhianna, McKayla Maroney, Hayden Panettiere, Ariana Grande and several more. Recent leaks now including Hulk Hogan’s son Nick, as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

Emma Watson was alleged to be a victim as well, but the threat turned out to be a hoax.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence opened up on her response to the mass hacking.

“[Every] single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry. I started to write an apology, but I don’t have anything to say I’m sorry for. I was in a loving, healthy, great relationship for four years. It was long distance, and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or he’s going to look at you.”

Now that the Jennifer Lawrence nude photo leaks have revealed the relative security of her online property, the actress behind X-Men‘s Mystique says she feels violated.

“It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”

Jennifer Lawrence relayed the horror of calling her father after the leak.

“When I have to make that phone call to my dad and tell him what’s happened … I don’t care how much money I get for The Hunger Games. I promise you, anybody given the choice of that kind of money or having to make a phone call to tell your dad that something like that has happened, it’s not worth it. Fortunately, he was playing golf, so he was in a good mood.”

Alongside the Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco, Jennifer Lawrence has been fighting to regain her dignity after the “Fappening” photo leaks. Both have allegedly taken legal action against the thieves.

Do you agree with J. Law that “The Fappening” was legally the equivalent of rape?
