Prince William Coming To New York: Will Kate Be With Him?
Prince William is planning a visit to New York this fall, but will Kate Middleton be coming with him?
People Magazine reports they have learned Prince William is planning to make an official visit to the U.S. sometime in the next few months, but it is not confirmed if Kate Middleton will be accompanying him. Right now, it seems the duchess isn’t a part of the original plans, but the palace isn’t ruling her out on anything. A royal source said an “open mind” is being kept as to whether she will be making the trip with William.
The Mirror reports that the visit will be in late November or early December, and William – and possibly Kate – will be in New York City for several days. It is believed their itinerary may include a visit to some of the city’s landmarks and a trip to Ground Zero. A royal source told the Mirror, “This trip is in the early planning phase but it’s a clear sign that she is on the mend. However, if there is any suggestion that the duchess isn’t well, it will be cancelled immediately.”
Kate is still suffering from the Hyperemesis gravidarum that recently forced her to cancel plans to attend an official tour in Malta on behalf of the Queen. She has also had to cancel at least one domestic engagement; the opening of the Clore Art Room at London’s Barlby Primary School.
Kate’s handlers say they are taking her schedule “day by day.” The official agenda for the visit has not been announced yet, and the palace will not comment on any plans. However, it is likely that the trip will highlight causes that Prince William is interested in. A spokeswoman for the palace said that announcements will be made about the tour “in due course” after firm plans have been made.
Whether or not Kate will accompany the Prince remains to be seen. It will depend on her health, says a Buckingham Palace spokesperson. “Any visits are never confirmed until closer to the time. With the duchess being unwell recently we are not confirming any engagements.”
Prince William’s and Kate’s first visit to North America was in 2011, when they visited Canada and the U.S. shortly after their wedding. The royal couple caused quite a stir in Los Angeles on their first visit, with Hollywood stars including Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez, and Nicole Kidman attending a black-tie dinner in their honor at the 1920s art deco Belasco Theater in L.A.
Barbara Streisand – whom The Inquisitr reports allegedly had an affair with Williams’ father, Prince Charles – was also among the attendees at the dinner for the royal couple.
