Mariska Hargitay, Peter Hermann Adopt Baby Boy, Second Child in Six Months

actress Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, have adopted their second child this year and this time it’s a boy.

The happy couple, who brought daughter Amaya Josephine home just six short months ago, confirmed to People magazine that they are now the proud parents of a son, Andrew Nicolas, who was born over the summer.

“We never in a million years thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said ‘Yes, yes, yes!'” Hargitay told People.

Speaking of baby Andrew, the 47-year-old actress said: “we knew this was our guy. Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”

Hargitay, who has been married to Hermann since 2004, expressed her delight in the fact that Andrew and Amaya have already started bonding.

“They’ll lie in the crib together, and she’ll hold his hand and put her arm around him,” says Hargitay. “She’s already so protective of him.”

In addition to their adopted children, Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann also have a 5-year-old biological son named August.
