‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 6 Premiere Spoilers: Moving On Is Hard To Do

The Vampire Diaries Season Six premiere will air later tonight on CW. The wait to find out what happened to Damon and Bonnie following the destruction of the other side is about to end. Fans have been waiting to see how Elena and the gang will pick up the pieces after Damon and Bonnie’s death. Damon and Bonnie did not die though. Entertainment Weekly shared the latest scoop on The Vampire Diaries season premiere, and it is clear that Damon and Bonnie are not dead.

Where are Damon and Bonnie though? Ian Somerhalder revealed that Damon and Bonnie are somewhere they do not want to be. He is not at all happy about their location either, and they are doing everything they possibly can to return to their family back in Mystic Falls. There is one big problem though. The spell put on Mystic Falls by the Travelers at the end of Vampire Diaries Season 5 is still in effect. This means that the vampires that once lived in the town can no longer go passed the border. The humans in town are fine. Matt, Tyler, and Jeremy all remained in Mystic Falls.

This causes a problem for Elena. She cannot monitor Jeremy, as she was able to do in the past. She is mourning the loss of Damon, and Jeremy is mourning the loss of Bonnie. When the action picks up at the start of Vampire Diaries Season 6, Elena is still mourning that loss, but she is doing so in an odd way. She is using a spell given to her by a witch to hallucinate Damon. Nina Dobrev revealed whom Elena will turn to after the loss of Damon.

“Caroline is a rock, and Alaric’s back, so she does have the two of them, but she’s also in a way shut them out a little bit as well.”

Why is Elena not leaning on Stefan? He left Mystic Falls after Damon’s death, and he moved on from the loss in his own way. According to Epoch Times, Stefan Salvatore will have a new love interest pop up during the start of Vampire Diaries Season 6. The romance teased between Caroline and Stefan is still a possibility, but Season 6 will start without them in contact. Stefan pulled away from everyone after Damon’s disappearance. Caroline Dries, executive producer for The Vampire Diaries, teased the following about Stefan’s life and his new love interest, who is played by Emily Chang.

“Ivy’s a potential love interest and she opens the door into this world of Stefan’s that we’ve never seen before. We start to understand his process as a vampire … of starting over and living a different identity, because we’ve only seen him as Stefan Salvatore, high school student-turned-Elena’s boyfriend.”

A preview for Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries does show the drama ahead for Elena, and it shows Stefan’s new life. He will return to his friends though.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, new romances will heat things up during Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries. Tyler will move on from Caroline with the new witch that popped up in town last season. Alaric will also have a new woman enter his life, and there is even a tease of a romance between Damon and Bonnie. They will spend four months together in limbo, and that could bring them closer together. A new man enters Elena life as well. Fans will need to turn in to find out what heats up for the characters on this CW series.
