EJ Johnson Loses 50 Pounds After Gastric Sleeve: ‘Rich Kid’ Back In Control

EJ Johnson has lost 50 pounds in just five weeks after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery. Magic Johnson’s son spoke to People Magazine about his decision to go through with the surgery, saying that he struggled with his weight for much of his life. Although it has taken a lot of work so far, the sacrifice has totally paid off — and EJ is looking fabulous!

“[Weight] is something that I’ve been struggling with for pretty much all of my life. Nothing was working, and I wanted to make a more permanent decision to get back on track. [But] I wanted to wait until I was a little bit older to know how to handle myself afterwards,” the Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills star explained.

EJ Johnson has taken some heat for his decision to have the surgery. Many people feel that getting gastric bypass surgery (or the like) is the “easy way out,” and that wealthy people just do it because they can afford it and would prefer not to work for it. Well, EJ disagrees. He told E! News that he wanted to take this step, and that he intends on working on himself to make a “positive change” in his life.

“A lot of people think it’s the easy way out, but it’s not. It’s a step in the right direction, just a big push…I feel very mature, kind of in the right place for it and I’m very ready to look cute. The surgery is a huge deal for me and it will certainly be a positive change.”

There have been quite a few celebrities that have had wonderful success following gastric sleeve surgery. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, comedian Lisa Lampanelli lost over 100 pounds following her surgery last year. “I’ve lost a total of 106 pounds. I feel like I’ve reached the weight I’m supposed to be. I’m officially a skinny b**ch!” Lisa said.

As EJ Johnson probably realizes, the surgery is just one part of the overall plan. He will need to adapt to a healthy eating lifestyle and include some exercise into his routine if he wants to take more weight off — and keep it off. He’s doing great so far, don’t you think?
