Brandon Lloyd Traded To St. Louis Rams For Sixth Round Draft Pick

In exchange for the WR the Rams have given up a sixth-round pick in the 2012 draft although they could be left with a fifth-round pick should Lloyd catch 30 passes this season with the Rams.

Lloyd will already be familiar with at least one Ram, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels with whom Lloyd played for last season in Denver. The pairing of McDaniels and Lloyd could be a good once considering the wide receiver had a breakout seasons and led the league with 1,448 yards receiving on 77 catches with 11 touchdowns.

This season Lloyd has just 19 passes with 283 yards and no-touchdowns however he missed one game with a strained groin.

Lloyd will earn $1.4 million this season and was in the final year of his contract with the Broncos.

Lloyd’s presence could mean more of a long-game for St. Louis, last year 18 of his catches were for 25 yards or more while his receiving average of 18.8 yards was the third highest since 1970.

Do you think acquiring Brandon Lloyd from the Denver Bronco’s was a smart move on behalf of the St. Louis Rams?
