Kevin Hart To Judge ‘Movie Night’ On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Kevin Hart will bring his comedic chops to “Movie Night” on this week’s installment of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

While Hart is known more for his stand-up and his big-screen endeavors than his abilities on the dance floor, apparently producers believed the comedian would be a good fit for the movie-themed edition of DWTS. Instead of adding another judge to the panel, Kevin will fill in for Len Goodman, who is reportedly taking a few weeks off.

According to the Liberty Voice, Goodman splits his time between the American show and the British program Strictly Come Dancing. Since the 70-year-old must jet across the pond to film both shows, he decided to take a much-needed rest. Kevin Hart will fill in for him this week, and other celebrities will follow suit until Goodman returns.

The Grio explains that Hart, along with judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough, will choose which dancers out of the remaining 11 will move forward in the competition. The episode airs Monday night (September 29) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Of course, Dancing with the Stars isn’t the only thing Kevin Hart has on his plate these days. The actor has a number of projects looming on the cinematic horizon, including the comedy The Wedding Ringer. According to Fashion & Style, the film co-stars Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and Nicky Whelan. The flick hits theaters on January 16, 2015.

“Jimmy (Hart) provides best man services for socially challenged guys, who — for whatever reason — have no one close enough to agree to stand by them on the day of their wedding. Doug (Josh Gad) a groom-to-be, has found himself in just such a situation, but, to make matters worse, he fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well. When all else fails, Doug seeks out Jimmy’s services to carry out a charade designed to make Doug look his best, but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.”

If you still need more Kevin Hart in your cinematic diet, then you’re certainly in luck. The comedian will team up with Will Farrell for director Etan Cohen’s Get Hard, which is currently slated to hit theaters on March 27, 2015. Hart’s will also reprise his role as Ben Barber alongside Ice Cube in the forthcoming Ride Along sequel.
