Rich Wilkerson Jr.: Kim Kardashian And Kanye West’s Pastor Getting His Own Reality Show
Rich Wilkerson Jr. was best known as the pastor who stole the show when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were married in Italy earlier this year, and now the handsome Miami clergyman is getting a reality television show of his own.
Wilkerson and his wife DawnCheré are set to star in an Oxygen network series called The Wilkersons, a show that is produced by E! News veterans Giuliana Rancic and Jason Kennedy.
“Producing this show has been a dream of mine, I’m thrilled that Oxygen has given us this platform,” Kennedy tells E! News. “Rich and DawnCheré are some of the most fascinating people I’ve ever been around. I can’t believe we get to finally share their story with the world.”
Rich Wilkerson Jr. is a junior preacher at Miami Garden’s Trinity Church, which was actually founded by his father. As the church’s official website notes, Rich Sr. has quite a resume himself.
“Since 1973, Rich has ministered to youth and families through evangelism and local church ministry,” the site noted. “His humorous style and power-packed speaking have been the key in seeing thousands turn to Christ. He has had extensive experience with the American family and has an unusual gift of communicating the Gospel to our troubled society. Over 1.5 million students have attended his presentations in over 1600 public school campuses throughout the United States and Canada.”
But Rich Wilkerson Jr. has something unique in the family — star power. He stole headlines during Kim and Kanye’s wedding, and has good looks that have earned him comparisons to Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Wilkersons (a working title), will show how the couple reaches out to young people to spread the gospel. Rich has been known to take great measures to bring people to his church, including shaving his head and getting Tasered live on stage.
“If [eating] a cockroach will get them in there, then I’m willing to do that,” Wilkerson told New Times in 2013. “I’ll do just anything to get people to [have] an opportunity to meet Jesus.”
With his new reality show, Rich Wilkerson Jr. will definitely have the platform to reach a lot more people.
